Winter Gas Saving Tips

Oct. 29, 2011, 1:54 a.m.

I just wrapped up interviews for the book with the Toronto Star's moneyville.ca and the CAA Magazine. Their articles were all about "Winter Driving Tips" to save gas. There's a ton of them that I shared, but one of the most important related to your car's front windshield "defroster". This system uses the air conditioner to clear your windshield of ice and frost. All very good and safe, but you must remember to turn it off as soon as the job is done. Many people drive around with this turned on for the ENTIRE Winter! So their car is working 20% harder to power the air con which powers the defroster. What an unnecessary waste of fuel.
